Santa will begin his pre-Christmas tour of the streets of Inverness in a new illuminated sleigh next week.

The timetable and route for the first leg of his three-week visit has now been published and will take in Balloch, Culloden, Smithton and Woodside.

It is being made possible thanks to the help of Inverness Culloden Rotary Club which brought festive cheer to youngsters last year during a series of socially-distanced Santa Sleigh runs in city neighbourhoods using a sleigh borrowed from Dingwall Rotary Club.

This year, Culloden club members decided to build him a new vehicle complete with lights and sound system which will tour many parts of the city and also put in appearances after pantomime shows at Eden Court Theatre and city supermarkets.

As well as bringing festive cheer to youngsters, Santa will be accompanied by his elves with buckets to collect donations for good causes.
