Three-vehicle crash closes part of A96 in Inverness

A section of the A96 is closed following a three-vehicle accident.

A police spokesman said: "The A96 is currently closed between the Smithton roundabout and Balloch junction following a three-vehicle crash. Please avoid the area."

Traffic Scotland indicates that the accident happened at around 2.30pm.

A spokesman said: "The A96 is currently closed in both directions between Raigmore and Allanfearn due to a road traffic incident. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times."
