CITY road closures will cause disruption for some Inverness motorists in the next few days.

Temporary full or partial closures will be in operation in parts of Church Street, Harrowden Road and Telford Street, Highland Council has confirmed.

Church Street is the first to be affected. It will be closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday while “essential public utility maintenance works” are carried out. Access will be maintained for pedestrians during the closure.

Harrowden Road will be closed on Monday from 8am to 8pm while fibre optic cables are installed as part of the rollout of the local 5G network. Again, pedestrian access will be maintained during the work.

And a lane of Telford Street will be closed from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday. The closure which affects the westbound lane, will take place between the Telford Roundabout and Lochalsh Road.

It too is taking place as part of efforts to install fibre optic cables.

“The lane closure will be implemented when appropriate signs and barriers are in place, and local residents will be notified by post,” said a council spokeswoman. “Access will be maintained for pedestrians only. An alternative route will be available for vehicular traffic.”
