At Inverness Sheriff Court, Thorpe admitted drug-driving in Lochalsh Road, Inverness on December 4, 2019 and was fined £380. He was also banned from driving for a year, although his licence had been revoked shortly after the offence was committed.

Defence solicitor John MacColl told Sheriff Sara Matheson: "As is so often the case, my client had taken cannabis some time previously and had not realised it would still be in his system."
