Inverness first offender bit police officer and shouted racist remarks

A 27-year-old Inverness woman who bit the hand of a police officer after she was arrested for creating a city centre disturbance was fined a total of £420.

First offender Natalie Dyce, of Balvonie Brae, admitted at Inverness Sheriff Court the November 18 assault and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and shouting racist remarks towards a group in Church Street.

Fiscal depute Sophie Marshall said Dyce was intoxicated and was making reference to the group's skin colour.

Defending, Graham Mann told Sheriff Sara Matheson that his client had never been in trouble before or since and apologises for her behaviour.
