Thousands of bees die in inverness attacks

Bee keepers are stunned.
Bee keepers are stunned.

Police are investigating the vandalism of three hives and theft of one with 5000 bees in the Leachkin area of the city.

David Brown, president of Inverness-shire Beekeepers Association, said: "We are stunned. We would be astonished if one of our members was responsible."

Then last Sunday two hives at Balvonie were vandalised. Mr Brown added: "It is a mindless act by people who have no concern that it is a living creature that they are upsetting or killing."
