Inverness car thief caught on camera
A stolen Mercedes-Benz worth around £20,000 was ruined by a thief who left it covered in blood and the insurance company wouldn't pick up the £14,000 bill to clean it, a court was told.
But the owner's CCTV captured images and the voice of the culprit, 39-year-old Anthony Jackson, of Dochfour Drive, Inverness which led to his arrest, Inverness Sheriff Court heard.

Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald that Jackson was recorded saying: "F****** hell, this is hard to do. I have never stolen a car before."
He was also filmed walking round the car which was parked at a property at Lily Bank, Slackbuie, in Inverness on July 5, 2023.
Jackson admitted the theft of the vehicle but before Mrs Eastwood had finished narrating the facts, Sheriff Macdonald interrupted her: "I have heard enough. I want a report."
She then deferred sentence until January 16 for a background report and Jackson's bail was continued.
