THIEVES stole "a quantity of tobacco" after raiding a shop on the Black Isle in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police have appealed for information following the break-in at Culbokie's Spar and Post Office in Smithfield, Culbokie, sometime between 12.20am and 12.35am.

Officers have not specified how much tobacco was stolen.

Detective Constable Chris Robertson, at Alness, said: "We would be keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area of the shop just before or after midnight.

"Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to call police on the 101 number, quoting the reference 0091 21 July 2020."
