The Oxygen Works has been nominated as Highland News and Media’s charity of the year.

As a completely self-funded charity, The Oxygen Works offers access to unique, innovative and holistic therapies and services, supporting the community to better manage their health and wellbeing.

From oxygen therapy to cutting-edge physiotherapy and a range of complementary therapies; it is all aimed at offering clients choice in their health and wellbeing journey.

As a Registered Scottish Charity, it works to deliver services and therapies which are affordable, accessible and which improve the lives of countless people. It has delivered invaluable support to our community since 1992 and the team are proud to serve a broad and inclusive group of individuals who travel from across the north of Scotland and beyond to access its services.

Jenni Donnelly, general manager at The Oxygen Works, said: “Across all of our operations and interactions, we focus on the individuals we support at all times. Providing the highest standard of treatment and client care. We operate an environment of trust and respect to provide a positive experience for all.”

There are over one million people living with a neurological condition in Scotland; that is 1 in 5 people.

The Highlands also happen to have the highest incidence rate of MS in the world, with a level of 292 per 100,000 people receiving an MS diagnosis. Recent estimates suggest that 1 in 450 people will be affected by MS.

This is coupled with increasing diagnoses of other long-term health conditions and the emergence of new diseases such as long Covid against a landscape of stretched health and social care systems.

Jenni added: “We believe that The Oxygen Works has a significant role to play in supporting the long-term health and wellbeing needs of people living in the north of Scotland.

“We are extremely grateful to Highland News and Media and to have been chosen as their nominated charity for 2024. Having this kind of support is invaluable to us and is essential in allowing us to continue to serve the community of the Highlands and Islands.”
