Inverness teenager who moved to USA as a child with his family is shot and killed in America

A teenager born and bred in Inverness has been shot dead in America.
Ben David Mackie was killed in the early hours of August 7 at a house in Lake Jackson, Texas.
He had moved to the USA with his mum and dad, Cindy and Colin, 11 years ago.
Mr Mackie is vice president for the Americas region of international firm JAB Recruitment.
A police report into the incident said: "Lake Jackson police responded to a report of a disturbance with shots fired at 1.32 am, Friday, in an apartment complex in the 500 block of That Way [street]."
Lake Jackson police sergeant Roy Welch said: “Upon arrival, it was found that a 19-year-old male victim, who resides in Lake Jackson, had been shot.
"The victim was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Health Brazosport, where he died from his injuries."
Police are still investigating the exact circumstances of the tragic incident.
Ben's funeral is being handled by the Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, Texas, where tributes can be made for his family.
The news has stunned the many friends and family of the Mackies who still live in the Highland capital.
One friend, who did not want to be named, said: "This is agony for everyone. No one can believe what has happened. Our love goes out to Colin and Cindy and their family here in Inverness."
Others have also left messages on the Facebook page of Cindy Mackie.
Emma Nicol said: "There are no words, we are heartbroken for you all, sending our love and prayers."
Vivien Macdonald said: "So, so sorry Cindy, heartbroken for you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with all. Love and hugs."
