A teenager has been arrested after vandalism and an attempted break-in at Inverness High School.
The incident was witnessed at 2am this morning by a shift worker who was out for a walk and reported it to police.

The school is currently closed during coronavirus restrictions.

The eyewitness said: "While walking along Dochfour Drive, I heard what I thought were male voices in the grounds of the high school.

"I went round to the entrance in Montague Row. That entrance is closer to the school building, and I heard a group of males, trying to break in, I made a call to the police at 2am exactly.

"Police arrived a few minutes later."

A police spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland was made aware of vandalism at Inverness High School at around 2.05am.

"A 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident and will be reported to the relevant authorities. Further enquiries are ongoing."
