The runners, Anna Gordon (32) and Rya Pickering (23) undertook 60 miles in 30 days. They set up a GoFundMe, which raised money for Team Hamish.

The pair had taken up running recently, and saw an advert for the 60 miles in 30 days challenge. They both come from Nairn and work for the Bandstand Bar and Restaurant, so chose to support the local charity.

The target was to raise £500, however Gordon and Pickering managed to raise £955 through their efforts.

Hamish Hey tragically died at seven years old in 2017 from a rare type of cancer. His family wanted to build a lasting legacy, and formed Team Hamish.

They aim to create accessible and pleasant spaces for those of all ages and abilities to enjoy throughout Nairn, which this fundraiser will help go towards.

Liz Bow, Hamish's grandmother, said: "It was so very thoughtful of the girls choosing TeamHamish as their charity. We are so appreciative of both their supporters generosity and their time and effort to raise this absolutely wonderful amount.

"This will make such a difference as we now start to progress with the next phase of our proposals."
