An Inverness boy was recognised for his efforts and talent at an Inverness performing arts school as he was the winner of a sought-after scholarship.

This is the fourth year running for the scholarship, thanks to which the selected winner will receive free weekly musical theatre lessons for the year.

Head of Drama and Creative Assistant at TFX, Amy Crook, said: “Charlie has been with us since he was only 5 years old. Starting off on our minis class Charlie has always had such an amazing humour, kindness and confidence.

“This year he took on the massive role of Marlin in our production of Finding Nemo JR. From the very first rehearsal he embraced everything and we are so proud of him.

“I think the most beautiful part of awarding Charlie the award was the absolute roar of pride from his friends. They were all so thrilled for him which is just a testament to what a lovely boy he is.”

Last year’s recipients of the scholarship, Jessica Macfarlane (15) and Kirsty Wilson (11) both said it was an exciting experience which gave both a big confidence boost.
