An Inverness fish and chip shop is toasting sizzling success in a prestigious national industry award.

McLeod’s Fish & Chips, of Grant Street, was named by leading trade publication Fry Magazine as one of the 50 best – from among more than 10,000 – in the UK.

A major Loch Ness campsite has been put up for sale for the first time – with prices starting at £2 million.

Loch Ness Shores, which sits right next to the shore of the loch in Foyers, has been placed on the market for offers over £2 million.

Tenants wanting to move into the revamped Victorian Market in Inverness will have to pay more than £47,000 a year for the most expensive unit – raising speculation over whether there will be sufficient uptake.

The £1.6 million project to create a vibrant destination is moving forward, with takers being sought for 15 new units due to open early next year.

An end of an era has arrived for a well-known butchers after the century-old family business was sold to another Highland firm.

Duncan Fraser has sold his Inverness business to fellow butchers John M Munro Ltd in Dingwall – ending a family association with the Highland capital shop that stretches all the way back to its inception in 1911.

A veterinary practice worker left with life-changing injuries following an accident in Inverness last month has thanked well-wishers for their kind messages.

Erica Campbell was was walking along Southside Road in the Crown district when she was hit by a white Mercedes lorry.
