A SUSPICIOUS fire at Inshes Retail Park has sparked a police appeal for information.

Officers issued the appeal following a suspected incident of wilful fire-raising at Deichmann Shoes in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 4.45am.

Police said that the fire caused "significant damage" to the property before being extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue firefighters.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Johnstone said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the fire. We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fire."

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is encouraged to contact police on 101, quoting reference number NN8409/19. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
