Inverness student posts hilarious note to warn neighbours of her noisy behaviour
An Inverness student has warned her neighbours that there might be strange noises from her home.
Drama student, 27-year-old Fiona-Jayne Massie posted a letter explaining to her neighbours that she might be rehearsing Shakespeare so any loud noises were nothing to worry about.
Miss Massie, like many students at Inverness College UHI, are self isolating during the coronavirus lockdown.
In a note to neighbours in the city centre, she wrote: "Hey Neighbours
"My name is Fiona and I am a drama student working from home.
"My spare room is now my stage."
She continued: "If you hear any shouting or loud noises from this flat, please don't worry - I am probably reciting Shakespeare, feel free to have a tweet and view my progress."
She gives her twitter handle as @fionajmassie
Posting her note on her twitter page, Miss Massie said: "Being a drama student has taken a dramatic turn (heh heh), so I have to appease my neighbours."
Miss Massie told the Courier: "I'm studying an HNC in Acting and Performance at Inverness College UHI, and it's just a one year course.
"All our coursework has moved online, so we're doing a lot of monologues, singing, poetry reciting.
"Students from the course are also working on some collaborative work over webcams like directing and movement pieces, and devising workshops for children."
While Miss Massie says she loves musical theatre, she doesn't believe she can dance very well, she joked: "If anyone ever casts a production of Chicago where Roxy Heart doesn't need to move around much, then I'll sign up!
"Shakespeare is more my forte, or comedy, or improv."
