Strictly Inverness contestants get spicy for their fundraising efforts
The perfect pairing of a quiz and a curry are about to marry at an Inverness event.
Taking place at Cinnamon Restaurant on Millburn Road on April 30, the evening is a fundraiser for Leah Campbell and Martin Dey who are taking part in Strictly Inverness.
Strictly Inverness is an annual dancing competition that sees Highlanders learn to dance over five months, which is all in aid of the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.
Alongside intensive training, participants must also host a range of events to boost their fundraising efforts.
Leah and Martin’s curry and quiz night is the last of their fundraisers and they are hoping for a good turn out.
Speaking about why she decided to do Strictly Inverness, Leah said: “I was looking for a personal challenge and one to help me get fit…I’m just a girl trying to get back into her pre-lockdown jeans!
“I love being involved in charity and fundraising events but this was my first experience with actually organising them single-handedly.
“I am a very organised person and thought this quality would make me a relatively good candidate for Strictly, but as I have now learned it takes a lot more than being organised to put on a good fundraiser!”
Martin, however, was not the one who actually filled in the application for him joining.
He said: “My brother and his girlfriend have been at me for years to do this, so this year he decided to bite the bullet for me and sign me up…without me knowing!”
Tickets for the curry and quiz night cost £25per person and includes food and entry to the quiz.
