Kingussie Shinty Club have confirmed that two of sport's most popular folk heroes are coming to Badenoch to learn the noble art of shinty from the game's very own 'Lionel Messi'.

Ronald Ross will take cricketing legend Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff and premier football superstar Jamie Redknapp in hand to show them what sport is really all about.

The full details are yet to emerge but club president Russell Jones (no shinty slouch himself ) told the Courier's sister newspaper, the Strathy, that plans for the recording of Sky's hit comedy panel game 'A League of Their Own' were well in hand.

"The fine details are yet to be ironed out, but we know now that it's on and we're really looking forward to seeing Freddie and Jamie play the great game here at the Dell."

A date of October 17 has been set for a Highland welcome to the stars of the British sports-based comedy panel game featuring Flintoff and Redknapp as team captains. The show is in its 10th year.

More on this as details emerge.
