Inverness Ness Factor contestant hosts Halloween karaoke night for Highland Hospice

There’s a treat in store for karaoke fans in Inverness this Friday, as Ness Factor contestant Michelle Robertson hosts a Halloween-themed fundraiser in aid of Highland Hospice.

Michelle will welcome guests to Lochardil House for the free, family-friendly event, which she describes as “the perfect way to end your guising night.”

Doors open at 6.30pm, with drinks on arrival, sweet treats, canapés and spooky punch for the kids, followed by karaoke, games, a raffle and a few songs from Michelle herself.

“Fancy dress is optional but encouraged, it’s Halloween after all!” she said. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone along to Lochardil House for an evening of music, laughter, and community spirit.”

Michelle has already raised almost £2,000 for Highland Hospice and hopes to boost that total through her upcoming events.

Although currently based in the Central Belt, she is preparing to relocate permanently to the Highlands - a move she says “already feels like coming home”.

“I’ve developed such a strong connection to the Highlands and its people,” she said. “The sense of community, kindness, and resilience here is remarkable, and Highland Hospice truly embodies all of that.”

Ness Factor 2025 fundraiser in Inverness to support Highland Hospice

Ness Factor finalists raise funds for Highland Hospice with Eastgate Inverness fun day

Ness Factor is one of the Hospice’s biggest fundraising events of the year, with 12 singers performing in the live final this November in front of a panel of judges and an audience of more than 350 people.

The overall winner will earn the chance to perform at Belladrum 2026, with scores based on judges’ marks, audience votes and fundraising totals.

Michelle says her Ness Factor experience so far has been “memorable and rewarding.”

“Singing live on stage will be daunting, but when it’s for a cause as special as the Highland Hospice, every note feels worth it,” she said. “I’ve also met such a lovely group of people in the other finalists; although it’s technically a competition, it doesn’t feel that way at all.

“I’m genuinely so proud of everyone’s efforts and so grateful for the support and encouragement from the Hospice team, the event organisers, my corporate sponsor and colleagues at Highland Coast Hotels, and our amazing voice coaches.”

All proceeds from tomorrow’s karaoke night will go to Highland Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care and bereavement support across the region.

“Whether supporting someone in their final days or wrapping around a whole family in grief, the Hospice plays a vital role in Highland life,” Michelle added. “I’ve seen first-hand the impact it has, and that’s what inspired me to get involved.”
