Finnies The Jeweller is a family-owned business and has operated since 1957.
The business stocks its own in-house crafted jewellery alongside a number of top international watch and jewellery brands, and since day one, the desire has always been to offer a warm, family-friendly environment where you can relax and take all the time you need to find that perfect piece.
For the Finnie and Dawson families, ‘family’ and ‘business’ are virtually indistinguishable from each other since the business has always run in their veins. Two generations of the family have devoted their lives to it, and the third generation is now taking it forward into the 21st century.
Finnies has created its business by never compromising on quality, offering rare levels of choice and getting to know its customers as individuals.
Much as Finnies enjoys communicating through both print and digital media, it has always believed there is no substitute for old fashioned personal contact.
The team is never happier than when it is out on the shopfloor, as this is where lasting relationships are forged.
As Finnies has come to know its customers and multiple generations of their families, the business has been proud to play a part in some of their most important milestones, such as engagements, weddings, christenings and retirements.
Family is, and always will be, an important part of the business identity, however, the most important part of a business’s success is to have properly trained and experienced staff and this is not limited to family.
Within a family business you are never just a small cog in a national machine.Your efforts and contributions are recognised quickly and ideas implemented at a pace that simply isn’t possible for many large organisations.
Additionally, a genuine 3G business also provides three distinct customer bases so when buying pieces for the store or developing new designs in-house, Finnies is able to draw upon the experience of three different generations which really helps to ensure that there is always something for all ages and many tastes.
This year has of course been very different and brought many challenges for everyone so while the team and clients will always be the priority, Finnies is also committed to ensuring that it does whatever it can to further support the wider community.
All at Finnies recognises that without the support of the local community it would not be here today.
And so, as the business looks upon the close of 2020, it does so, safe in the knowledge that if we all help, support and encourage each other, then whatever challenges the future may hold, together we can achieve anything.
