There is nothing quite like immersing yourself in local flavours and experience the place through all your senses when travelling to a new destination.

A historic fishing village located on the stunning North Coast 500, Ullapool is renowned for incredible produce from the sea, offering a tasting experience which is only enhanced by the views and stunning beauty of the Western Islands.

And, with so many amazing distilleries producing wonderful whiskies across the Highlands and Islands, whisky lovers can add to the experience by pairing their delicious food with a dram. A visit to The Seaforth can bring the two experiences together.

Located at the harbour entrance, this lovely restaurant and takeaway will take you on a flavour journey, whether you are looking for the tastiest seafood, a fish supper of if you want to explore the world of whiskies.

Boosting a wonderful atmosphere and local charm, The Seaforth is positioned in the heart of Ullapool, with a variety of indoor and outdoor seating areas - including their beer gardens, where their customers can enjoy watching the world go by, and the boats in Lochbroom harbour come and go.

“We take great pride in where we source our produce from, ensuring sustainability and quality for our customers,” said general manager, Jody Keating.

At The Seaforth, the focus is on taste – from the kitchen to the bar.

Guided by the knowledge and expertise of The Seaforth’s in-house Master of Whisky, Tony Hercus, whisky lovers are invited to come in and enjoy a dram-tastic travel.

For whisky lovers, The Seaforth will be hosting an exclusive whisky tasting on April 7 which will feature live music and a cheese selection to pair with six delicious drams.

Mr Hercus has a decades-long experience in the whisky world. He was invited to join the United Kingdom Bartenders Guild in 1990s and as a member he attended and completed an entire City Guilds course in bartending. After successfully completing the two years of studying, he was able to further his learning and went on to be Scottish Cocktail champion several times.

He took part in a year-long Master of Malt whisky course, sponsored by Macallan-Laig and then a Masters Finishing course with Glenmorangie.

Since then, he has hosted over 1000 people for whisky tastings in various locations - including a Castle and the Charles Rennie Mackintosh museum.

Bar manager, David Kennedy, said: “Having a Whisky Master adds to our customer experience and journey. It's an honor to have Tony Hercus as part of The Seaforth team. With his comprehensive knowledge and passion for Whiskies, our customers can embark on a tasting journey of Scottish Whisky and its rich history.”

The whisky experience tasting will be on April 7at 7 pm – those interested can book their place here or find more information on The Seaforth’s website.
