Inverness Fairways fire: Crimestoppers appeal for information

A new appeal for information has been issued after the fire at Fairways in Inverness which destroyed the premises of several businesses and disrupted operations at several more.

The fire began just after midnight of Sunday morning when a man deliberately drove a Skoda Octavia car into premises there and then set fire to the vehicle.

At its peak, six fire engines were deployed to battle the blaze that took hold as a result and prevent it spreading.

Police have reported that they are eager to trace a man wearing dark clothing and a balaclava who was seen running away from the scene towards Sir Walter Scott Drive.

Now the national manager of Crimestoppers has added her voice to their appeals.

Crimestioppers is a charity that allows people to report crimes and provide tip-offs completely anonymously.

Angela Parker said: “This was a frightening and dangerous attack that took place at Fairways Business Park.

“Someone knows who was behind this violent incident that caused distress and damage to the local area and businesses.
