PLANS have been submitted for a temporary marquee during the winter months at an Inverness garden centre.

Bosses from Simpsons Garden Centre, at Inshes, want the tent to be in place between October and January for a five-year period.

It is hoped the marquee would be on site for 12-and-a-half weeks from October 14 and would be open to the public from November 15. It would also be closed to customers from January 2 next year and completely removed from the garden centre by January 10.

According to the application it would only be used for seasonal entertainment, such as a Santa’s Grotto.
