Wheels of Hope Inverness charity event to see cycling and spin bike enthusiasts raise cash for Highland children in need at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness
Cyclists and spin bike enthusiasts are being encouraged to join an “epic indoor challenge” for charity at the Eastgate Shopping Centre next weekend.
Eastgate is teaming up with Anytime Fitness to raise funds for the HALO (Highland Action for Little Ones) children’s charity by collectively pedalling the equivalent distance of Land’s End to John o’ Groats.
For the Wheels of Hope event, Anytime Fitness is providing the bikes and participants can sign up for 30 to 60 minutes or more by emailing Sarah Purdie at marketing@eastgate-centre.co.uk.
The event will be held at the shopping centre’s blue wall, falcon gallery on level 4 on Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3, from 8am to 6pm
Shopping centre manager Chris Kershaw said: “We’re inviting fitness enthusiasts of all levels to join us in this unique challenge.
“Whether you’re an avid cyclist, new to spin classes or just love a Sunday bike ride, this event offers an excellent opportunity to get fit, have fun, and contribute to a worthy cause.
“With every pedal stroke, you’ll be helping HALO make a significant impact in the communities they serve.
Mel Thomson, of the HALO charity, said: “We’re excited to partner with Eastgate and Anytime Fitness for this innovative fundraising event.
“The funds raised will enable us to continue our vital work, and we’re grateful for the community’s support in making this event a success.
“Every mile cycled brings us closer to our goal of helping those in need, and we couldn’t do it without the dedication of participants and sponsors.”
Luciana Mackay, of Anytime Fitness, added: “This event is a testament to the strength and spirit of our community.
“Together, we can make a real difference while achieving our fitness goals.
“We’re proud to support HALO and look forward to seeing everyone come together for this incredible cause.”
HALO supports children and families in need across the Highlands by providing essential items.
Each care package provided also includes items to support educational and emotional well-being, including books and toys.
