M&S and Co-op to receive compensation from Nairn shoplifter who was caught in Inverness
A 32-year-old Nairn man who stole food and alcohol from a Nairn supermarket before travelling to Inverness to shoplift in the city was arrested by police soon after committing the crimes.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Kyle Brandie, of Church Street, had "little recollection" of the offences.

His solicitor Natalie Paterson told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald: "He remembers very little about this as he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
"This is no longer an issue for him."
Brandie admitted the thefts from the Co-op in Nairn and Marks and Spencer in Inverness on June 2. He also pleaded guilty to failing to provide his personal details when required to do so by police who caught up with him in Southside Place on the same day.
Fiscal depute David Morton told Sheriff Ian Cruickshank: "Both thefts were reported to police by shop staff and officers kept a look-out for him.
"He was reported to have fled Marks and Spencer up the Market Brae Steps and he was stopped by officers in Southside Place."
Brandie was fined a total of £270 and ordered to pay £83.33 in compensation to the Co-op and £38.91 to Marks and Spencer for the goods he stole.
