Inverness sex beast is first prisoner to die of coronavirus
The first Scottish prisoner to die after having coronavirus is a serial sex attacker.
John Angus (66) was sentenced in 2011 and it is believed he contracted coronavirus while in Edinburgh prison.
A fatal accident inquiry will take place.
Angus had a record which includes an 11-year prison sentence for tying up and gagging a primary school head teacher in Easter Ross and abducting a school cleaner there, at knifepoint, in 1994.
His criminal career also included indecent assaults, robbery and prison breaking as well as defying court orders.
Angus had been living in a flat in Inverness but just before an illegal trip to Aberdeen he had been moved by social workers to a hostel in Nairn "for his own protection" after word got around the local community that he was a paedophile.
