Scottish Water sewer improvement works set to close Inverness road for 2 weeks later this month
Sewer improvement works will close part of a major Inverness road for two weeks from later this month.
Scottish Water say the closure of a section of Culduthel Road is necessary as work progresses on a new sewer that will help address flood issues.
The closure will be in place from Wednesday, June 26 for approximately two weeks at its junction with Burn Road and Cauldeen Road, and signposted diversions will be in place. No bus services will be affected.
The closure will allow sewer improvement work to progress safely on Burn Road, which includes the construction of a new CSO (combined sewer overflow) chamber and a new sewer aimed at addressing flooding issues on the street. Burn Road will remain closed to traffic until the project is completed in August this year.
Project manager Scott Henry said: “We understand Culduthel Road is a well-used route through the city for many residents and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure. It is necessary to allow us to safely connect the new sewer on Burn Road into the network along Culduthel Road, and our project team will do all they can minimise the impact of this as far as possible.
“Signposted local diversions will be in place, and pedestrian access will be maintained where possible. We would like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding while we carry out this work.”
The project is being delivered on behalf of Scottish Water by Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) and contractors Pat Munro Ltd.
