Severe disruption warning on Inverness to Perth railway line due to heavy snow in the Cairngorms

RAIL services between Inverness and Perth have been disrupted by heavy snow in the Cairngorms.

Delays of up to an hour have affected some services, with ScotRail warning that some journeys may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

As well as snow the rail company has warned of an obstruction on the line near Blair Atholl, with some passengers citing a fallen tree.

Disruption is expected until at least 2pm.

"We apologise for the delay," said a spokesman. "To make a claim under our Delay Repay Guarantee, visit www.ScotRail.co.uk/delay-repay."
