Inverness ‘serious assault’ leaves man in Raigmore Hospital and street cordoned off in the Highland capital, Police Scotland officers confirm

A man is in hospital and an Inverness street cordoned off by police following a “serious assault”.

Police said “extensive” enquiries are ongoing following the assault, which was reported at around 9.25am on Saturday in Planefield Road.

The road remained cordoned off to pedestrians and traffic at 1.30pm, with police vehicles stationed at either end of the exclusion zone.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.25am on Saturday, 31 May, 2025, we received a report of a serious assault on Planefield Road, Inverness.

“Emergency services attended, and a 31-year-old man was taken to Raigmore Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 quoting ‘incident number 1057 of May 31, 2025’.”
