A MAN who sexually assaulted another man in an Inverness house has been sentenced to 300 hours of unpaid community work.

Barry Cameron (31), of Kinning Park, Glasgow was also placed under social work supervision for a year and put on the sex offenders register for the same period.

He was found guilty after a jury trial at Inverness Sheriff Court last month of performing two sex acts on a man who was in a drunken sleep in the Viewfield Road property on March 24, 2019. Additionally, he had taken photographs of the incident on his mobile phone.

Cameron had lodged a special defence of consent or reasonable belief of consent.

Sentence had previously been deferred for a background report.

Defence counsel Edith Forrest told the court her client had a difficult upbringing. “He continues to deny this matter,” she added.
