Inverness court deals with second man accused over business park fire
A second man has appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court in connection with the fire that destroyed several premises at the city’s Fairways Business Park in March.
Jason Gallacher (38), from Armadale, West Lothian, appeared from custody today after his arrest and was remanded in custody when his case called before Sheriff Sara Matheson.
Co-accused Jack Ventham (34), who made an initial appearance in court on Monday, having been arrested and charged over the weekend, was also remanded.
Both made no plea and were committed for further examination.
They are accused of resetting a vehicle at various locations in Inverness as well as at Perth BP station and McDonald's in Livingston, the vehicle having been dishonestly appropriated by unknown means.
They are further charged that at Scottish Premium Seafood, Unit 1, Fairway Business Park, they wilfully set fire to the premises whereby a vehicle was reversed into the premises and thereafter, by means unknown, the vehicle and premises ignited and the fire took effect on it and other premises, damaging the same.
