Scottish Water reports supply failure for some homes and businesses east of Inverness and Loch Ness





Some homes and businesses within the IV2 postcode area have woken today to a lack of tapped water.

A failure in the supply to some households within the area, which runs from west of Nairn and east side of Inverness southward down the south side of Loch Ness to near Fort Augustus.

Scottish Water had been working on a burst mains within the postcode area the day before, but reported the work as complete.

The public firm has not yet specified how many households and businesses have been affected, or in which areas.

The issue was reported at around 6.40 am with another update expected at 9.40 am.

A Scottish Water spokesman said: “Customers in Inverness, IV2 have reported an interruption to their water supply.

“We are currently on the way to investigate the issue and are aiming to be on site as soon as possible.”
