A broken down train has forced ScotRail to cancel two journeys between Inverness and Dingwall today.

The mechanical fault means the 11:43 service from Inverness, due into Dingwall at 12:21, will not run.

The return 12:45 Dingwall to Inverness service, due in at 13:21 will also be cancelled.

A similar issue has also led to cancellation of the 14:00 Inverness to Wick service, due 18:22.

The ScotRail spokeswoman added: “We have a D&E bus in place to run from Inverness to Wick for this cancelled train.

“Due to the use of road transport your journey time will be extended and we apologise for the disruption to you journey on this route, if you are delayed over 30 minutes you can make a claim by visiting ScotRail.co.uk/delay-repay .”
