Train services between Kyle of Lochalsh and Inverness are facing cancellation today due to the early morning train supposedly hitting a stag on the line.

The 6.11am from Kyle to Inverness was disembarked at Achanalt with passengers then having to get a bus the rest of the journey due to damage to the train, an eye witness has confirmed.

The 12.25pm service from Kyle to Inverness is currently cancelled.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail customer operations director, said: “We’re sorry to customers who have experienced disruption to their journey as a result of this incident.
