A schoolgirl who sparked concern after going missing in Nairn has been found safe and well.

Fears had been growing for the safety of Leah McCallum (12) after the Nairn Academy pupil was reported missing earlier today (Friday, September 18).

Police issued an appeal for information saying she had last been seen at about 1.30pm today and that they were “growing increasingly concerned” for her well-being.

Following our recent appeal, Leah McCallum, who was reported missing from Nairn, has now been traced safe and well.

A short time ago, a Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Following our recent appeal, Leah McCallum, who was reported missing from Nairn, has now been traced safe and well.

“Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.”
