Cromarty born-and-bred singer Tamzene is set to support Adele tomorrow and Saturday at two sold-out Hyde Park concerts.

The Scottish singer and instrumentalist was first discovered busking on the streets of Inverness and will now open for the woman who served as an inspiration for her songwriting.

The young Highlander said she was confused when she learned of her slot at Adele’s gig, but felt “happy and grateful.”

Tamzene is one of ten acts on the day who are notably all female, something she said was significant to her.

“It’s so encouraging to see one of the greatest artists of our time making a bold statement of support by giving us this platform,” she said. “It’s always an honour to share the stage with talented and inspiring women, so these shows will be very special.

“It means the world to me. I feel like it’s a moment to share with everyone who’s helped me along the way. The outpour of messages has been overwhelming, nobody gets anywhere alone, so it makes me feel like it’s really worth pursuing what you love.

“I’m most excited to sing for fans of Adele, because she really is an artist who influenced me. I want to enjoy their energy and the feeling that these big gigs bring, and I’m also super excited to watch the other supports, I saw Self Esteem recently and she blew me away.”

Tamzene also returns home, performing at Belladrum Festival in July.
