Dingwall Ross County fun day brought ‘so many smiles’ to children facing bereavement
A HEARTFELT Halloween event “brought so many smiles” to bereaved children, who were treated to a spooktacular fun day at Ross County.
On October 25, Dingwall’s D Gunn Funeral Home held a Halloween Fun Day for bereaved children at Ross County Football Club’s Victoria Suite.
The event was for young children who had lost a parent in the last year.
“What a fantastic day we had!” said D Gunn Funeral Directors. “A huge thank you to everyone who came along — we hope you all had a spooktacular time filled with fun, laughter and lovely memories.
“Everyone’s kindness and generosity mean the world to us. Together, we created a truly special day full of fun, comfort, and community spirit.”
As well as holding the event at the football club, Ross County players also came along to the event to meet the children. Mascot of the club, Rosco the Staggie, also made an appearance on the day.
Crocus Highland, a bereavement support service for children and young people, brought thoughtful crafts along to the event — including memory badges, sand jars and a memory tree filled with suns, clouds and heartfelt memories.
D Gunn Funeral Directors added: “A heartfelt thank you to the anonymous donor who so kindly gifted a Ross County mug to each child – such a lovely and thoughtful surprise.
“And a big thank you to everyone helped make this day possible and supported the event in so many ways.”
