Fiscal depute Adele Gray told Sheriff Gary Aitken that Iolu appeared nervous to officers who halted the VW Golf in Culcabock Road on December 14 and there was a strong smell of cannabis.

"He was detained and in the car were found 16 bags of cocaine weighing 16 grams and £240 in cash," Ms Gray added.

His details were checked and it was discovered that he was not insured to drive the car which belonged to someone else.

Iolu had been detained in custody when he first appeared on Monday for an address he gave to be checked out.

However defence solicitor advocate Mike Chapman said that it did not prove to be correct and Iolu, who admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and driving without insurance, was again remanded in custody.

Sheriff Aitken called for a background report and the case will call again on January 16.
