Roll up! Models wanted for fashion show
Aspiring models are being sought for a circus-themed fashion show to raise money for the development of a new children’s department at Raigmore Hospital.
Cirque Du Fashion Show, at the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Inverness, on 18th November, will benefit Highland Children’s Unit Appeal.
Open auditions for male and female would-be catwalk stars will be held at the shopping centre tomorrow between noon and 3pm.
Highland Fashion Week founder Garry James and Eastgate marketing and promotions executive Becky Davies will make the selections.
The show, hosted by drag queen Scarlet Diamonte, will showcase the winter trends from fashion stores in the centre including Debenhams, Next, Topshop and New Look.
Stilt walkers, performers and nostalgic treats such as candy floss and popcorn will help create a ‘big top’ atmosphere. Tickets are on sale now at £10 and include a ‘carnival’ cocktail on arrival. The Highland Children’s Unit Appeal, launched by the ARCHIE Foundation in conjunction with The Inverness Courier, aims to raise £2 million to create a more child-centred and family-friendly department for children. It is now £250,000 short of the target.
It involves the redevelopment and extension of the former ward 11 at Raigmore which was previously used for respiratory patients. Work has already started and the doors are expected to open in March.
Phases one and two will include a children’s ward, dedicated assessment unit, daycare unit and educational facilities.
It is proposed a third phase, which still has to be designed, will include a paediatric outpatients department and some supporting services.
* Budding models unable to attend tomorrow’s open audition still have the chance to be selected by emailing their contact details and clothing sizes along with a full length photo to becky@eastgate-centre.co.uk by Monday 5th October. Tickets for the show can be obtained by calling (01463) 226457
