Roads to close in Inverness city centre for Armistice Day ceremony

SEVERAL city centre streets will close for 10 minutes on Monday morning during a short ceremony outside Inverness Town House to mark Armistice Day.

It will include a flag-raising ceremony and a two-minute silence.

The closures, for public safety reasons, will take place between 10.55am and 11.05am and will mainly effect Castle Street, High Street and Bridge Street and surrounding areas.

Pedestrian access and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Bridge Street will be closed at its junction with Castle Road to its conjunction with High Street.

High Street will be closed at its conjunction with Bridge Street to its conjunction with Castle Street.

Castle Street will be closed at its conjunction with High Street to its junction with View Place and Castle Wynd will also be closed at its junction with Bridge Street to its end.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be available using Culduthel Road, Old Edinburgh Road, View Place, Haugh Road, Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens, Castle Road, Annfield Road, Damfield Road, Culcabock Road, Old Perth Road, Millburn Road, Academy Street, Friars Lane and Bank Street.
