A LEARNER driver has been banned from motoring after being stopped in Oldtown Road, Inverness with excess alcohol.

Appearing at Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday Kamil Luczak (36), of Kintail Crescent, Inverness, admitted the previous day driving with excess alcohol and without L plates.

He had a reading of 45mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, just over twice the legal limit.

Solicitor Duncan Henderson said Luczak had a drink on Monday night and thought he was alright to drive the following day. He had washed his car, taken the L plates off and forgot to replace them. Luczak was fined £500 and banned for a year.
