Motorists warned of disruption on A9 south of Cromarty Bridge due to Bear Scotland resurfacing work
MOTORISTS using the A9 south of the Cromarty Bridge face 10 days of disruption when major resurfacing work gets under way this week.
Bear Scotland will be resurfacing a stretch of the busy trunk road immediately to the south of the bridge at the B9163 Cromarty junction.
The work, which will take place at night, will begin on Wednesday and last until July 24.
A 10mph convoy system will be in force during the work, which will run from 8pm to 7am daily except on Friday and Saturday nights.
A temporary 30mph speed limit will be in effect outside work hours, owing to the temporary nature of the road surface.
Motorists are also being warned that that B9163's junctions with the A9 will be closed at night "as required".
A Bear Scotland spokesman said this would affect the first two nights (July 15 and 16) and again for five nights from Sunday, July 19.
An alternative diversion will be available along the B9169 via the Culbokie Junction and the B9169 via the Easter Kinkell Junction, and then the A835 Trunk road.
"We have planned these works to be undertaken overnight when traffic flows are lower to minimise disruption to local and visitor traffic," said the spokesman.
"Bear Scotland and Transport Scotland wish to thank the local community in advance for their patience during these essential works."
