Bosses at the Culloden Moor Inn and Takeaway have moved to reassure customers after a customer later tested positive for Covid-19.

Following social media speculation about the premises owners took to Facebook to explain the situation in full.

"We were contacted late yesterday by the Public Health Organisation informing us that a customer had been in our restaurant on Saturday night and has tested positive for Covid 19," they said.

"They left us with no further information other than senior management would be in touch with us.

"After no contact this morning we went to the Environmental Health Offices who were unaware of the situation and called the Public Health Organisation and consequently arranged a site visit for this afternoon.

"After a full inspection and a clean bill of health we can assure you EHO are completely satisfied with our practices and procedures that are in place and that no improvements are required from ourselves."

As an extra precaution, they said, they will remain closed until 4pm tomorrow to allow a deep clean and sanitisation of the premises, for further peace of mind.

They added: "We are in the process of contacting our team to ask that they are tested and can assure you they will not return to work until the test results are received.

"We have handed over our track and trace details from Saturday to EHO, who will then hand them over to the local track and trace team.

"If you are showing any symptoms of Covid 19 please refrain from visiting our premises in the future and help us keep our team and our customers safe."
