A man who defied a court order not to contact his wife 24 hours after a sheriff’s instruction has been remanded in custody.

Daniel Mould (34) appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court for the second day in a row after an earlier appearance on a domestic abuse charge.

Sheriff Gary Aitken had granted him bail with special conditions, warning there would be consequences if he failed to observe them.

Mould, who gave a bail address of Lister Road, Scunthorpe, admitted the breach of bail by contacting his wife in Kiltarlity last Wednesday (May 27).

Defence solicitor Neil Wilson told the court: “He made phone calls as a welfare check before heading south. He was stopped by police near Fort Augustus.”

Sheriff Aitken told Mould: “You have an appalling record and were warned what would happen if you made contact.”

He will appear for sentence on July 20.
