RBS confirms closure dates of two Inverness branches to make way for £2.5million flagship site
Royal Bank of Scotland has confirmed the dates that two of its Inverness branches will close.
Customers received letters this week informing them of the changes.
The branch on the upper floor of the Eastgate Centre will close on February 20 next year, with the Harbour Road branch set to close on March 14.
The closures were approved to make way for the grand opening of a new £2.5 million flagship branch at Falcon Square on March 17.
The decision to close the existing branch comes in response to shifting customer behaviours, with data revealing a 46 per cent decline in counter transactions between January 2020 and 2024.
The merger of the two Inverness branches into one combined site is not expected to result in any job losses.
The banking giant says it will benefit from new service points and technology, aimed at ‘improving customer experience’.
