HIGHLAND motorists have been warned of a minor road closure tonight to enable engineers to inspect a rail bridge on the Highland mainline.

The U2864 Lynebeg Road in Moy will be closed from its junction with the B9154 Daviot–Dalmagarry Road to its junction with the A9 from 10pm tonight (Thursday). It will reopen at 6am on Friday.

"The closure is to allow engineers working on behalf of Network Rail, to access the bridge safely," said a Highland Council spokeswoman.

"Access will be maintained for vehicles employed to carry out the works and emergency service vehicles attending an emergency, and only then at the discretion and by the instruction of the contractor.

"An alternative route will be available for all other vehicular traffic."
