A NEW man is at the helm of Inverness Caley Thistle Social Club.

Rod Mitchell has taken over as steward after being “head hunted” by the Greig Street club’s committee.

Mr Mitchell (46), who proudly declares he is a Hilton boy, has a wealth of experience in the licensed trade in the city and in recent years he has worked at the Castle Tavern, Phoenix Ale House, SoBar, Corriegarth and Inverness Golf Club.

He has been an ICT fan since the merger of Caley and Jags in 1994.

He said: “The building is fine, but it just needs more people coming into the place, so one of my priorities will be getting

it back up to its usual

self.

“I will be putting on more functions, fundraisers and the like to hopefully make it busier. I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
