Public to have say on buses at an event in Inverness

STAGECOACH bosses are to come face-to-face with disgruntled customers at a special “surgery” organised for next week.

Inverness MP Drew Hendry has organised a public meeting after the Inverness Courier reported on widespread dissatisfaction with city bus services aired during a recent consultation by the firm.

Mr Hendry, who says he has been working to address problems raised by constituents over several months, has also launched an online survey for the public to share their experiences.

He said: “Buses are vital links to our communities, medical care and our businesses and when things go wrong people are left stuck or, if they are lucky enough to be able to afford it, with the expense of a taxi.

“Unreliable services have a real impact on people’s lives and that has certainly been the case for far too many people of late.”

The meeting will take place at the Spectrum Centre, Inverness at 6.30pm on Thursday, July 18.
