Provost Glynis Campbell-Sinclair opens the Inverness Highland Games with an address

THE Inverness Provost and honorary chieftain of the Highland Games, Glynis Campbell-Sinclair, marked the opening of the Inverness Highland Games 2022 today with a speech and presentation's.

The popular and historic event returned today for the first time since 2019 and was already packed with locals and tourists from 11am.

The day hosts a mix of traditional field events as well as a new charity relay and plenty of food and drink options.

Provost Sinclair said: "It's my pleasure as chieftain and provost of Inverness to welcome you all to the 2022 Inverness Highland Games. This years gathering marks the return of the games after a two year break. We are delighted to be able to stage this traditional and truly historic event once again."

Presentation's were then made to former competitors and the Soltman brothers who will perform a demonstration later on in the day as the world's strongest men.
The games are on until 6pm.
