Proud Ness has secured medical firm LifeScan as its headline sponsor ahead of this Sunday's event in Inverness.

A world leader in blood glucose monitoring and one of the largest private employers in the Highlands, Inverness-based LifeScan will also have participants in the march in support of the LGBT+ community.

Members of LifeScan’s LGBT+ employee resource group OpenNess will be joined be colleagues and families at the event.

OpenNess was founded 18 months ago as part of the firm's commitment to inclusion.

Graeme Webster, operations director for LifeScan’s Inverness manufacturing facility, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Proud Ness this year and helping ensure our community has a vibrant pride celebration.

“It’s another great opportunity for LifeScan to support and celebrate diversity, inclusion and acceptance.”

The march begins at Crown Primary School at 1pm. Following the march, there will be stalls with information on different organisations that serve the LGBT+ community, guest speakers, and live music at Bught Park.

It is included in the Inverness Highland Games and gala weekend programme.
